There are clever implementation else where, such as when you have to complete a puzzle on your map. There were just the right amount of hidden object scenes. The game play was great. The graphics are top rate. I was pleasantly surprised to see totally different puzzles and unique challenges. Honestly, I didn't realize I had finished the game until I found myself at the main screen. We need more like it. Bring on more. I especially liked a unique puzzle that actively involved the map. I love having a real journal that gives information rather than links to videos within the game. I have always loved finding objects from a list rather than by silhouette or by reading through storybook pages, or those tedious match scenes where I must find the matching pairs stashed behind the leaves in a tree or behind items in junk piles. Monica's voice actor is the worst offender and, you guessed it, she has the vast majority of the lines. The game is well written with no glitches. There are clever implementation else where, such as when you have to complete a puzzle on your map. Took me a minute to realize I had finished it. Yes, they are still hidden object but with very refreshing twists. If there is a sequel, bet it will be platnium and costly! I liked the story, too.

Not only are the HOS creative the items are not always in your face easy to find. I recommend it highly. Is anyone who they claims to be? The problem is that as you go through the story the other tasks you have to complete don't really fit in. Add to that the fact that much of the in-game text obviously wasn't written by a native English writer. Yes, maybe the voice acting needed some help but I could get past that. Cut to present day. Although the ending was abrupt, the developers left it open for sequels. There are clever implementation else where, such as when you have to complete a puzzle on your map. I enjoyed it so much I may just play it again for the sheer beauty of it. Puzzles were fun to do and got you thinking. The HOS are bold and clear yet objects are not obvious.

I immediately bought the next two in the series, and am rather sad that there are no more Phemomenon: this time. The HO scenes are good, not too hard, not too easy, and they each have a HO game within the Battle Slots which is different and fun. I especially liked a unique puzzle that actively involved the map. The "cyan ghosts" all looked great, and there was a surprisingly spooky moment that startled the 4-year-old watching me play the game.   4. Who is lying? I have played lots of games but, can say this is the first one ever, hints were not needed at all. After all the traversing around, it was a very disappointing finale.

  6. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by zoldie from creative puzzles, nice plot Feeling rather jaded to all the versions of the same few themes, and stumbled across this series. I couldn't wait to get back to my pc and continue playing. There is also a good strategy guide available. I kept having to refer to hints to figure out what to do next because the forward moves just weren't very logical. Who is lying?

Like I said, the visuals are pretty sick; this is just plain art we're talking about if you discount the clunky animations and stick to the painterly backgrounds. I assume a sequel is planned, but the ending is so abrupt that I really thought something had gone wrong with the game when it ended.
