Dark Tales 13: Edgar Allan Poe's The Pit And The Pendulum - Part 1 Let's Play Walkthrough FACECAM

I miss the early DT games and wish the Devs would just start a new series and stop abusing E. For the price, I don't think it's worth it. What is important to me is whether this game was fun to play.. We are left with one impression at the end of the main game only to be told something different in the bonus chapter. Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by rainworm from Surprise, surprise I can't believe so many people are marking this game down because it is not the same storyline as Poe's version. It is back to the true detective story again Part of the show? As a medium and illusionist, she has foreseen her own death even, but Dupin and you shall protect her. In fact, it seems to be made out of whole cloth! We did not mind the music, they did not do much to elevate the game, but also did not distract us. It begins, as many of the Dark Tales. A knock at the door, the butler opens, asks for your invitation. I should note that the graphics were pretty good, as usual; as was the familiar Dark Tales theme music.

I can not tell you how much I wish I could have recommended the game. After you and Dupin enter a room where a prime suspect was locked in with the doorman, Matt, the "bad guy," Jacob, Zula's partner, jumps through a window into the garden. But then, the game does not make much sense either. Can you team up with Dupin once again and solve this cold-blooded case? And there is NO bonus play at all. You catch up in time to have Jacob hurtle a poison gas canister at you and you see him drag off Dupin as you pass out. Dupin had a bad feeling about this performance and begged Zula to reconsider, but "the show must go on" until it doesn't, and it did! A knock at the door, the butler opens, asks for your invitation. It gives the game an unusual direction. Think of something else please! When you finally are inside the house, Zula enters the room, vanishes in blue smoke the next moment and reapears a second later — magic. It's a good thing you made it to the show on time, unfortunately, this show will be the Grand Final, but is it just an elaborate Grand Illusion? Dupin goes after him just before a security gate clangs down. Tonight a special performance of Zula and her partner is scheduled.

Detective Dupin will be a special guest star participant, so this will be a party to die for! You won't be disappointed. Don't take my word for the ghe - believe the reviewer who lamented not checking it out before his disappointing anf of this game. It gives the game an unusual direction. Part of the show? I love that Amax has included Morphing Objects and collectible Illusion Cards in this CE version, but the objects morphed too quickly and are easily spotted. After playing the demo, I can only say that MahJong Adventures is not a buy for me. This should serve as a warning to players who like to purchase only the standard edition of games! Echoes of Aetheria try but does not meet the standards of prior Edgar Allen Poe's. Can you team up with Dupin once again and solve this cold-blooded case? And there is NO bonus play at all. However, the event comes to a standstill when someone murdered Zula during her performance! But then she is hit by a dart and falls to the floor, dead.

Date published: Rated 3 out of 5 by heartblob from dark tales indeed but is something missing. After playing the demo, I can only say that this is not a buy for me. This is the first Dark Tales game I have enjoyed in quite a long time, in fact, I almost gave The Pit and the Pendulum 5 stars, but it does have a few features that could've been better. That is really what they should return to, because they are good at it. And, yes, there were at least a couple of very good puzzles in the game. We did not mind the music, they did not do much to elevate the game, but also did not distract us. We are left with one impression at the end of the main game only to be told something different in the bonus chapter. The mini-games were a little too easy as far as the Hard Mode goes, but I still enjoyed more than I disliked. I would not have paid "collectors" price for this one, if I had done the preview first. A complete fabrication with little or no relation to the claimed poem. But what a cheap trick to get folks to buy the Collector's Edition to see what is the real, whole story! In fact, it seems to be made out of whole cloth! Play it. I strongly suggest you try the Demo before you purchase it.

That is really what they should return to, because they are good at it. So how did we end up there? The Mini-Games I will admit are Fab Fashion easy to solve, even on the Hard difficulty Hermes: Rescue Mission, but I don't really care how hard or easy puzzles are, as long as Battle Slots are fun, and I enjoyed several of them. The Hidden Object Scenes are just okay, nothing spectacular, nothing Edgzr new. By the time you've run back and forth retrieving the other masks from safe, cabinet, and trunk, using a seeming unending supply of amulets, there seems little point in rushing after Dupin and Jacob. The mini-games were a little too easy as far as the Hard Mode goes, but I still enjoyed more than I disliked. I miss the early DT games and wish the Devs would just start a new series and stop abusing E. I actually checked out that poem, and Dak game is nothing like the poem at all. A complete fabrication Thw little or no relation to the claimed poem. You are going to join him as he strives to protect an old friend, Zula, one of the Tales::. Love this series!!

Either way, we should have been injured, yet we are left without a single scratch! Dupin goes after him. In fact, players will have a hard time figuring out what they even need to do to get some of those Achievements! He is soon overpowered by the illusionist and taken down into a cellar of an old building near Pendulum House. I would not have paid "collectors" price for this one, if I had done the preview first. Detective Dupin will be a special guest star participant, so this will be a party to die for! The CE bling assortment includes collectible cards for the characters and morphing objects. Through te window you are able to see something strange: Dupin is shooting at a man. We did not mind the music, they did not do much to elevate the game, but also did not distract us. And, yes, there were at least a couple of very good puzzles in the game. Obviously it was her partner, who hit her, he escapes the room instantly.

  1. The storyline in the game is interesting enough to propel the game forward, but lacks the level of originality that is needed to make the game more than just an ordinary murder mystery. You regain consciousness to find that the secret passage they went through can be opened when you find four statuettes. Sadly, while it functions as a game, it is not on the level we've come to expect from DT games.

  2. You are in front of the house now, Dupin is nowhere to be seen. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1-Slide buttons to correct positions according to clue shown. Part of the show? In short, this game was quite disappointing on a lot of levels.

  3. Guests are there by invitation only and Dupin has yours. So how did we end up there? You catch up in time to have Jacob hurtle a poison gas canister at you and you see him drag off Dupin as you pass out.

  4. Left behind are you, with the task of helping Dupin. The CE bling assortment includes collectible cards for the characters and morphing objects. One of the reasons is that we think that AMAX Interactive put more thoughts into crafting the gameplay of this sequel more than they did with the past few installments.

  5. She has received threats upon her life and has foreseen her death. Obviously it was her partner, who hit her, he escapes the room instantly. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by scoobydoo from The 13th series game for Friday the 13th!!!! But then she is hit by a dart and falls to the floor, dead.

  6. It's a good thing you made it to the show on time, unfortunately, this show will be the Grand Final, but is it just an elaborate Grand Illusion? HOS vary but most are lists. They obviously have a creative writing team, so why not take a leap of faith and allow them to write a brand new series?

  7. You are going to join him as he strives to protect an old friend, Zula, one of the performers. After you and Dupin enter a room where a prime suspect was locked in with the doorman, Matt, the "bad guy," Jacob, Zula's partner, jumps through a window into the garden. For the price, I don't think it's worth it.

  8. A complete fabrication with little or no relation to the claimed poem. Pursuit is not easy, you have to overcome a lot of obstacles. The games earn achievements and build upon each other!! Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by rainworm from Surprise, surprise

  9. You must find three masks to add to the one in place on the gate to raise it, but only after you solve still another puzzle. In short, this game was quite disappointing on a lot of levels. If I recall, then they were basic games, not collectors editions? What is important to me is whether this game was fun to play.. You regain consciousness to find that the secret passage they went through can be opened when you find four statuettes.

  10. You must find three masks to add to the one in place on the gate to raise it, but only after you solve still another puzzle. I will bet that most gamers haven't even read it. Dupin had a bad feeling about this performance and begged Zula to reconsider, but "the show must go on" until it doesn't, and it did! I can't believe so many people are marking this game down because it is not the same storyline as Poe's version. Left behind are you, with the task of helping Dupin.

  11. While the basis of the gameplay is nothing worth writing home about, there is a few elements that spark our interest. At a crowded party, the fire extinguisher is locked to the wall with two amulets that must be found before you can take it. For example, at one point, we are shot at in a room with a well; the next second, we find ourselves in a dungeon.

  12. One puzzle is a maze — nicely done and not too easy. The Hidden Object Scenes are just okay, nothing spectacular, nothing really new. By the time you've run back and forth retrieving the other masks from safe, cabinet, and trunk, using a seeming unending supply of amulets, there seems little point in rushing after Dupin and Jacob. It seems to me that they are trying so hard to remaster the oldies by completely revamping the plots, so why not go all the way? A knock at the door, the butler opens, asks for your invitation.

  13. I do recommend it, but Not the collectors edition. Bad stuff: Same ol' complaints - missteps and logic fails abound. The puzzles if you can call them that, I think of them as a nuisance, where one must drag through a worm like shape without touching the sides, for this neurologically challenged woman well, never going to happen.

  14. This is the first Dark Tales game I have enjoyed in quite a long time, in fact, I almost gave The Pit and the Pendulum 5 stars, but it does have a few features that could've been better.
