Art comes to life in Domini Games’ latest addition to the Mystery Tales series! An old friend and her husband have opened an art gallery! Her husband claimed the success of their opening exhibition was the result of a magical brush. But what first seems like an exaggeration quickly takes a sinister turn when he goes missing! You rush to her aid, only for her to disappear as well! An old artist hasn’t quite finished his dark masterpiece, and only you can save your friends. Can you escape the Painted World in time, or will you become a permanent part of the exhibition? Find out in this spine-tingling Hidden-Object Puzzle adventure!

Long-time fans of the Hidden object genre will find the adventure gameplay extremely familiar and straightforward, the same case goes for the puzzles. Good pacing of the story. However, when I met Morty, a cat with attitude, that changed everything and I absolutely loved this game. The colors are wild in this one. Several years ago, there was a rash of games that dealt with the subject of people being sucked into paintings and, at that time, I was rather tired of the storyline. This is a lengthy, boring tedious, sequel with a ton of repetitive tasks. I think you'll find you will like this as much as I, especially if you love those dastardly mini games. However, something more sinister seems to be at play when her husband got absorbed into a painting and is now lost in the Painted World. The "Gadget" is the newly revised Mystery Tales Glasses upgrade, a Cell Phone that allows you to make and receive calls from the Dearly-Departed which requires a big stretch of one's imagination to contemplate. Graphics were clear and obviously not dark. There were only2 Scenes I enjoyed, one required aligning pictures that had a shaped hole into the scene where the missing item was, the other one was a Riddle Description Find that at least some effort was put towards its creation. Somebody must stay up weeks on end trying to find a way to frustrate me with these blasted things.

Mystery Tales Art and Souls is a game that I find very enjoyable. The effects went along with the action in the scene. As for the cat helper, its sarcastic and arrogant attitude gives it a distinct, fun personality. Luckily, the well-thought-out and varied hidden object scenes are extremely entertaining, which somewhat make up for the dullness of most parts of the gameplay. As I said, I'm not a big fan of this genre, but that being said, the story had me from the very beginning to the end. In fact, he was rather a fun cat and I hope to see him in another game from this developer. This is a lengthy, boring tedious, sequel with a ton of repetitive tasks. Really glad I did.   1. I'll just say it was a well written story that kept my attention all the way through. I don't know if there were an over abundance of them this time or they were so difficult it seemed like there were a bunch. Even though this one is a keeper and perfect for me, as always, I recommend that you try the demo to see if you will enjoy it as well. I wasn't quite sure I was going to like this game, but I have so many games from this series, I just had to try it.

  2. From morphing to lists and everything in-between it kept me wondering what was next. Morty the Cat's services aren't required i this chapter, nor is the Otherworldly Paranormal Mobile Device, even though Morty is still visibly napping the entire time. Thank goodness for the custom settings and I waited no time, once I decided I wasn't going to be able to solve them, I could skip right along to something else.
