Over the last few days, five mafia bosses have disappeared in mysterious circumstances. A strange liquid and a butterfly were found at the scenes of the disappearances. But this isn't what scared the citizens... Children started to disappear in the city. All of them drew exactly the same butterflies before they disappeared. This forced detectives and journalists alike to start their investigations. This is a special Collector's Edition release full of exclusive extras you won’t find in the standard version. As a bonus, Collector's Edition purchases count toward three stamps on your Monthly Game Club Punch Card! The Collector’s Edition includes:

Hints: Returns quickly, moves you to the next task using the map or sends you back a couple moves. Still, that's a minor flaw I can live with when the rest of the game is so fun. Otherwise entertaining. I have not played any other games by this developer, but I will certainly be looking for more from them. After awhile, the puzzles in these games all seem to be the same, but this had some really different and challenging puzzles. I had zero expectations seriously, what a dumb name for a game , and I was blown away. This is the game to play!! Puzzles were plenty and be prepared to backtrack a lot. Not a single junk pile! Alas, while I love the challenge of a methodically logical puzzle and will not let it conquer me, I finally found a game where I actually had to skip 3 puzzles and have not even finished playing the game -- that is how challenging this game is, and that is playing on the easy level!. Bonus is good and long, as well. I have been playing BF games for over 3 years and never once met an old standard, point-n-click, pixel hunting HOP that I liked. Mini Games: Not a fan but tried to do each of them. Now children are disappearing and butterflies seem to be the only link amongst cases. All the voice overs are well done and fit the characters.

I have not played any other games by this developer, but I will certainly be looking for more from them. Hidden Object Games: Find objects vs. This game breaks away from the old boring standard game play and dares to be a true and fun playing 'Adventure' game. The puzzles are wonderfully diffilcult to an appropriate mix of frustration, patience and thought: I like the use of hidden objects to solve small mysteries. This is very good game from developer five-BN. It is like playing a game within a game. Now children are disappearing and butterflies seem to be the only link amongst cases. The use of pointers is a little inconsistent, but workable. There is something sinister on the loose and it targeting the Mob; so far five bosses have disappeared under strange circumstance and crime scene investigation reports a strange brown liquid and a butterfly were found at each scene. There has never been a puzzle I could not solve, so I could not believe I actually hit the skip button, but I knew I would become obsessed and not finish the game any time soon. Graphics: Excellent Sounds: Very appropriate to scene and well integrated with tasks. Not especially but there is something that made me wanted to buy it and I will say it was because of the story: I am definitely intrigued.

I really cannot say that it is better than some games that have been released so far but it still does make the grade and will end up being my indulgence this evening. It was fun to play a game without a lot of gore and violence. Still I enjoyed the game so far what with the 2D graphics and the story behind our adventure. All the voice overs are well done and fit the characters. Keep those eyes open because finding some of them was difficult. I definitely recommend this game! This game is not for the faint of heart. No mistake about it, this is a winner!! Date published: This game has a decent story to it, and it doesn't involve demons or amulets--yea! Thank goodness there are no keys left in the door-poke it through-land it on a paper and pull it under gags or any of the countless done-to-death obstacles, except for the fact that everything is locked. A racially diverse cast of characters! The bonus game is equally entertaining and I was sorry to see it end. I have not played any other games by this developer, but I will certainly be looking for more from them. After awhile, the puzzles in these games all seem to be the same, but this had some really different and challenging puzzles.

Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by Yurnmesis from Excellent! Still I enjoyed the game so far what with the 2D graphics and the story behind our adventure. Loved this one! No mistake about it, this is a winner!! Voice-overs and ambient sounds are very well done but lighting in certain scenes is too dark to make out Fashionista important items that need to be collected. Of course, you can use the hint option, but if you think and look hard enough you can complete the HOG without using it.

The music was subtle and not overly repetitive. The instructions were very clear for each one. It lacks some of the imagination and variation in puzzles that some games have. The developers have really made sure that nothing is amiss with game options as they have included customized settings which are a big plus for me. This is very good game from developer five-BN. This plays very much like an adventure game, but where those are often rather lonely, here you get to interact with a good number of other characters. Anticipated each new twist and turn! I liked how the hidden object scenes were also puzzles to be figured out - like looking for clues in a detective story. There is something sinister on the loose and it targeting the Mob; so far five bosses have disappeared under strange circumstance and crime scene investigation reports a strange brown liquid and a butterfly were found at each scene. All the voice overs are well done and fit the characters. I really Zen Games how the HOs are done. I have played a lot of these hidden object adventures and Janes Zoo one was one of the best. Unfortunately this problem will probably be an issue with many gamers. This game breaks away from the old boring standard game play and dares to be a true and fun playing 'Adventure' game. The bonus game is equally entertaining and Flowers Mahjong was sorry to see it end.

  1. The translation to English is pretty good, but at one point you pick up something it says is a knife and it isn't. I really cannot say that it is better than some games that have been released so far but it still does make the grade and will end up being my indulgence this evening. Overall: Purchased this game after reading the review on the latest edition.

Date published: I have not played any other games by this developer, but I will certainly be looking for more from them. There are Hidden Object scenes to search and puzzles to play.

  3. I definitely recommend this game! Disappointingly, the puzzles in New York Mysteries are not as challenging as we wish they would be, none of them is either mind-bending or totally unique. There is nothing that is different in the overall game play; a standard HOPA with extras that include a series of collectables and morphing objects. I am almost at the end of the game, but took a break to look at the reviews, and decided to give my review since I was enjoying it so much. Graphics: Excellent Sounds: Very appropriate to scene and well integrated with tasks.

  4. The music is gloomy, which is a perfect fit for the game; the voice overs are of nice quality, however, characters tend to speak very slowly. Mini Games: Not a fan but tried to do each of them. There is a jump map which makes it easier to get from one area to another. There are also new and different puzzles to solve, and I thank the crew that put this game together for new puzzes and mysteries are better than the same formulas. So far I love the game but do have one major complaint and that is the dark graphics.

  5. New York Mysteries definitely has great production values; evident in its amazing and sharp graphics and epic cutscenes — even the introduction to the main menu screen shows a lot of potential. Sold look, good smooth gameplay and a very likeable main character. 7. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by brwnpaprbg from Better than Expected This is a beautiful game with top-notch voice-acting and truly original gameplay really, I didn't need to oil a darn door until deep into the bonus chapter of the CE! I liked how the hidden object scenes were also puzzles to be figured out - like looking for clues in a detective story. Dark corners made it difficult to spot some items and it also hindered me trying to find the morphing objects as well.

Then, as Sherlock Holmes says, "the game will be afoot", when I replay the game again. This game breaks away from the old boring standard game play and dares to be a true and fun playing 'Adventure' game.

  9. Keep those eyes open because finding some of them was difficult. I never even had to peek at a walkthrough. The translation to English is pretty good, but at one point you pick up something it says is a knife and it isn't.

  10. New York Mysteries is a refreshing change for us, not only because the locations are much more current than most of the games lately but also because the storyline is very compelling. There are objects to collect as well as morphing items to gain achievements. They take away from the 'Adventure', they're boring and tedious and there's absolutely now challenge whatsoever. I enjoyed how it moved forward with logic, excellent graphics and sound, the use of old tunnels and trains underground with continued interesting and often surprising twists and turns. The hidden object games are not the usual find this and that, but interactive and more fun.

  11. The use of pointers is a little inconsistent, but workable. A racially diverse cast of characters! Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by brwnpaprbg from Better than Expected This is a beautiful game with top-notch voice-acting and truly original gameplay really, I didn't need to oil a darn door until deep into the bonus chapter of the CE! The heroine walking is a bit wooden, but did not detract from the game.

  12. The heroine walking is a bit wooden, but did not detract from the game. This game should only be marked "Adventure"! Game tools include a journal with tasks and objectives outlined and jump map that indicate areas of interest as well as possible collectable items or morphing objects if so desired.

  13. This is why I gave the fun factor a 4. It is now up to you to dig deeper and uncover the truth behind the Secrets of the Mafia. The use of pointers is a little inconsistent, but workable.
